Seeking Artist for a Tattoo Apprenticeship
 

 

Dear Applicants,

         My name is Kelly Lamezec, but I’m known as Kelly Killagain and I own 777 Tattoos located in Manahawkin, New Jersey. I am seeking a motivated artist who has the drive to become a professional tattoo artist. I graduated from Moore College of Art & Design in 2013 and have been tattooing full time ever since. I know what it’s like to be an art student wanting nothing more than to make art every day, help others in some way, and to still push myself to grow as an artist. I would love to find and train an apprentice who already has a passion for art and technical skills, so I’m reaching out to a couple art schools and colleges with art programs to get the word out!

 

Requirements:
 

• A strong portfolio that includes proof of competence in basic art skills, technical skills, and design/composition skills. Keep in mind that tattooing is all about patience and attention to detail. I am asking to see 6-10 images of any artwork you believe will showcase these traits.

• Must be responsible, motivated, self-disciplined, and dependable.

• Must have a strong interest in tattooing and is serious about becoming a tattoo artist–this is not an opportunity for someone to ‘try tattooing.’

• Must be able to easily commute to the shop in Manahawkin, New Jersey.

• Communication skills are important. Having experience in customer service and/or commission work is a plus.

• Familiarity in Procreate is not required, but helpful. If chosen, you’ll be using it almost every day.
